My First Attempt At Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies

Imagine this. You’re twenty two years old and have never made chocolate chip cookies from scratch by yourself. I know what you’re thinking…. Sad and pathetic right? Well, other then the occasional licking the spoon full of cookie dough while I was supposed to be learning how to make cookies, this is the case. I’ve never made homemade cookies by myself.

I decided I would try it out the other night. So I went on Pinterest (because how else would I find the perfect cookie recipe) and pinned a basic chocolate chip cookie recipe. I made a list of items I would need, and went shopping!

As I started to read the directions on mixing the ingredients together, I thought to myself, This seems easy enough. Well, turns out I was wrong. Making something for the first time can be challenging.

For example, I didn’t read ahead and so I stumbled through a few steps. But all in all… Those cookies turned out delicious!!

One thing I would’ve done differently?? I would’ve skipped the wax paper on the pan. I ended up pealing wax paper off the bottom of my cookies before I ate them! Lol!

This is the recipe from Pinterest if you want to give it a go!

Have a good night all!!!

Meet My Best Friends

Happy National Dog’s Day everyone!!!

Today is very special to me. We get to celebrate our amazingly loyal besties just as we should everyday!

Below are my two very best friends.

Meet Tyson! A one and a half year old Beagle/lab mix who is goofy and playful and also, very loving. He barks at squirrels outside, chases frisbees at the dog park, lays down while he drinks water from his bowl because he’s been outside playing and he’s too tired to stand. This big guy makes me laugh, comforts me when I’m sad. In fact, he licks my salty tears from my face when I’ve had a rough day. He always wants to play and be loved. Yup, he’s my buddy.

Meet Chuck!!!

This sweet loving Boston Terrier is about four years old. He is the most talented snuggler in dog history. He will lay just about anywhere. Whenever I want to snuggle I pull him into my lap and he’s happy to do it. He has the cutest smile and the best snores you’ll ever hear from a Boston. He’s basically my fur baby! A true sweet heart.

I have a huge passion for dogs. They are always there for you. They love you more than you know. If you would like to make a difference in a shelter dogs life, please visit my site

Thanks for stopping by!!

Who’s your best (fur) friend forever?? BFFF

Monday Mix Up Coffee Routine

Who’s tired of the same old boring medium roast coffee and creamer situation? Well, I definitely am. See, as other fellow college students know, sometimes we’re too strapped for cash to fork out the extra $4.75 for a fancy latte at Starbucks. So, I wanted to share with you the few ways that I mix up my coffee!

This can work the same for regular coffee makers, but I choose to use the Keurig. I LOVE the Donut Shop K-cups but will use anything. This morning I tried a hazelnut flavored k-cup.

While my hazelnut single cup brewed, I brought milk to a boil while constantly stirring. This has the ‘foamy cappuccino’ effect.

I used Torani caramel sauce to drizzle inside my coffee mug to add extra flavor.

Once my coffee was done brewing, I poured the steamy milk on top of the brew. Then squeezed a few more drops of caramel sauce into it and finished it off with a few dashes of cinnamon.

The result was delicious!!!

What are some ways you mix up your coffee routine? Comment below! 🙂

New Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tints

Allow me to introduce to you my new favorite lip balm. Clinique Chubby Stick Baby Tints. The famous “Chubby Stick” has been around for a while and has been loved by many. Their sheer moisturizing coverage made me fall in love with them. Then, people started wanting something with more color. So, Clinique brilliantly gave them what they wanted by producing the Chubby Stick Intense. Same great feel, but more great color.

As summer comes to a close, people are wanting to finish it off right with a unique sheer color. Enter, Chubby Stick Baby Tint. These great moisturizing lip balms are very sheer but react to each individuals chemistry to create an effortless sheer color. On my lips, they look very pink. I naturally have very pink lips, so these really accentuate that. On my friend who has a deep olive skin tone, they look a little more coral. My point being, they look different on everyone!!!

There are four different shades and they are priced at $17.00! I highly recommend going to your nearest Clinique counter and trying these ‘babies’ out! 🙂

Hope you enjoyed this post!!

What It’s Like To Be A Fashion Student At A Closing School

In 2011, I made a big decision. My enrollment at an art school. I had big dreams of being a fashion student and even bigger dreams of having a fashion career. Signing all of those student papers was the biggest day of my life. Little did I know that two months later I would find out that the expensive college would be closing down.

My first day of school was… Different. There were maybe eight vehicles in the parking lot and even fewer students walking throughout the halls. I thought maybe it was because I started in December. Art schools don’t have semesters. They have terms. There are five terms in a school year and my first term happened to start two weeks before Christmas. Not even half way through the term it came to my knowledge that the school was in a “teach out”. I had no idea what that meant. When I asked a class mate, they told me that our school would be closing after my class graduates. It didn’t really occur to me then that this would have a huge impact on my education. Shortly after I heard the news, I started experiencing the change in education. Teachers were being let go. The teachers they kept were doing the bare minimum because they knew they would soon be let go too. Pretty soon, classes consisted of sitting around for thirty minutes before even getting to the lesson. I’m pretty sure throughout my whole college education, my biggest class was six students. Teachers stopped caring. I mean you could literally miss school for weeks and not turn in much work and still have an A+.

This affects my class mates and I in the way that there aren’t other students to network with. They stopped school events such as trips and extra curricular activities. Unfortunately, through all of this change, one thing remained the same. The cost of tuition.

The fashion industry is a very competitive field. It is very overwhelming knowing that I have not received proper education to shine in this industry. Fortunately, I have the drive and a dream. I can only hope those two things take me far.

thanks for stopping by!

Clarisonic VS Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush

Okay folks! Debate of the season. Clarisonic or the newest Clinique Sonic Cleansing Brush. I am going to try my hardest at giving a non biased review. If you’ve been contemplating on which brush to purchase then I hope this review helps you! I have tried and own both.

Clarisonic (Mia, Mia 2, Aria, etc…)

This brand has definitely made some noise for the past few years! Starting with the Mia (one speed), this cleansing brush is guaranteed to clean skin six times deeper than cleansing with your hands alone. Clarisonic has also produced multiple brush heads to customize your brush. Acne prone skin? There’s a brush for that. Sensitive skin? There’s a brush for that? Enlarged pores? There’s also a brush for that. (Warning: slight bias ahead) my question is, why do you need 3 speeds on a cleansing brush? I think they make more speeds so they can up their prices. I own the Mia and honestly, every brush I tried was too rough on my skin. And you will definitely need to fork out some cash. The clarisonic brushes start at $99 and go all the way up to $225.

Clarisonic has remained the number one cleansing brush brand for a while now. But I have this to say Clarisonic… Watch out. A skin revolution has been born.

Clinique Sonic Cleansing System:

Those of you who are true loyal Clinique clients are going to automatically want in on this!
At a decent price of $89.50, this skin revolution will rock your world.

This ergonomic light weight brush is Swiss engineered. Each bristle is perfectly rounded at the tip for a gentle cleansing experience. It is uniquely created to clean different areas of your face in a scientific way. The green bristles are designed to unclog your pores throughout your T-zone and the white bristles are gentler for your cheeks and chin. Staying true to the Clinique brand, this brush has anti microbial bristles so it doesn’t collect nasty bacteria while sitting in your wet shower. Dermatologically developed, allergy tested, 100% fragrance free. That is Clinique’s promise. This brush is so soft on my skin and leaves my skin feeling incredibly refreshed! This brush was created to work with your customized 3-step skincare system.

*Lots of people are under the impression that these brushes exfoliate your skin. Let me clear this up by saying that Clarisonic and the Clinique Sonic Brush do not exfoliate. These cleansing brushes are meant to clean skin. They do not loosen the bonds of dead skin cells.

Which brush are you going to try?
