I have exciting news. As a lot of you know, I have been on the job hunt. As a recent college graduate, I wasted no time jumping into mailing off resumes and searching (what seemed to be endlessly) for a new job. While I loved being a Clinique Consultant, it just wasn’t the career I wanted for myself. That being said, I stopped at nothing to find a job in the Visual Merchandising field.
Luckily, I received countless emails and phone calls from companies who wanted to interview me. After seven interviews with different companies, I received an offer from Elaine Turner in Nashville. While I had been into this adorable boutique a few times, it never actually dawned on me to apply. However, LinkedIn had other plans. Being on LinkedIn is such a great way to connect and discuss job opportunities with many different employers and employees alike. I came across the store manager’s profile and decided to message her to see if there were any job openings in visual. After three interviews, I was in!
After accepting the position I felt empowered. Not only am I the Visual Lead, but I am also a supervisor. I’ve never had managing experience and I am so glad to be training in a management position. This will give me the opportunity to move up within the company.
So here’s a little about this great company:
Elaine Turner was started in 2000 when Elaine Turner and her husband decided to start a fun lifestyle boutique in Houston, TX. The company has had a lot of success and has opened eleven stores. Most of them in Texas and one in New York and one in Nashville. The company is mainly a retailer of handbags and shoes but also carries unique jewelry, clothing, and tech accessories. I am so excited to be a part of this trendy company and can’t wait to grow.

Thank you all for your continued support. Remember, always follow your dreams. Never give up.
Good evening readers! Here it is, finally. I went to Las Vegas, NV New Year’s week. Let me start with saying, Vegas is definitely a place you go if you want to experience a completely different world. It’s exactly what you would think of when you go to Vegas. Showgirls everywhere, arcade game noises coming from the millions of slot machines throughout every single hotel, restaurant, and bar, and a stampede of people of all ages, trashed. Las Vegas is like an arcade for twenty one year olds all the way up to ninety one year olds. It is a playground for adults.
Here is my trip in photos! I highly recommend checking out Fremont St. It is more of the old Vegas and it is fantastic!
While visiting, my boyfriend and I also checked out the ski resort on the outskirts of Vegas. It had a BEAUTIFUL view. However, not much snow…
I hope you guys enjoyed this reading. And if you haven’t been to Vegas, I recommend you book a flight!
Hello readers!!! I hope all of you had fantastic holidays and happy New Year to you all. I know that it has been since November since my last post. However, I was missing for a great reason. As some of you may know, I was finishing up my degree in December. That being said, I was an extremely busy gal. In fact, I literally went two months without a day off. I kid you not. It was insane! My life consisted of school, internship, and work. My stress level was at an all time high and I didn’t think I would make it out alive. Fortunately, I did. And because I went through all of that stress, I am stronger for it. I now have my degree in Fashion Design and Merchandising!
I learned a lot from my internship and got to work with a very talented jewelry designer/maker! It was exciting. At school I was responsible for writing numerous speeches for my last term. Let me just say that writing and delivering speeches is not my forte. However, I came out of there a better speaker. Thank you Mr. Wilds.
While I regret not blogging through December, I succeeded in finishing several goals. I would like to announce that I am back to my blog and I can’t wait to post more about what I’ve been up to. I am currently on a plane back to Nashville from Las Vegas! Yes, I needed a vacation reward. Stay tuned for photos from my trip and more!
Thank you all for reading!
Hello readers!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you all! I hope you spent the day with your loved ones and lots of food. I know I did. This was the first Thanksgiving I’ve hosted and it turned out really well. The only dish I messed up was the yams. However, they were still tasty. Just a little more liquidy than usual! Here is my day in pictures!
I am thankful for so many things this year. Here’s to name a few:
1.) I have an amazingly supportive and loving family. And although they live on the opposite end of the country, I still get to communicate with them.
2.) I’m thankful for my amazing boyfriend. Whom without, I’d be very lonely and not have as many adventures under my belt. He is my one and only. ❤
3.) I'm thankful for my sweet fur babies. They are always there to comfort me and/or play with me. Not to mention they're super cute.
4.) I'm thankful for my job. Times are hard as far as finding a job and I'm lucky to have one. Especially one that doesn't require me to work on holidays.
5.) I'm thankful for the roof over my head and the food in my belly.
6.) I'm thankful that I am about to graduate. I can't believe I am about be done with school!
7.) I'm thankful for you guys! I'm so happy to have all of you read my blog. I'm so new to blogging but all of your comments really mean a lot.
Thank you all for stopping by! Enjoy the rest of Turkey Day!!!! 🙂
Happy November everyone!!!! Welcome to the coldest month of the fall. I’ve been waiting all year to bake a fall pie, and last weekend I was finally able to find the time. This is my very first pie and I have to say, it turned out quite well. Maybe it was luck, or maybe I just underestimated my baking skills!
I found this recipe on Pinterest of course. If you would like to follow the recipe, click on the link below.
I love most pies… but, there is no pie like Pecan Pie.
Please let me know if you have any questions about what I used! And don’t forget to check out thecountrycook.net for more delicious recipes!
Hello everyone! Tonight I made a delicious meal. It has been a while since I’ve made a home cooked meal. I have been quite busy. Tonight I had time to make a scrumptious dinner.
I pulled this recipe from Pinterest. Here is the link in case you want to check it out!
Preheat your oven to 400 degrees farenheit.
Then, melt a half stick butter in a pan.
1/2 tsp salt
1tsp season all
3/4 tsp pepper
2 tsp paprika
Soak chicken breasts in a bowl of milk for 25 min.
Shake excess milk off and dip the chicken in your seasoned flour. Be sure to fully coat the chicken.
Place the chicken in the pan and bake for 20 min. Flip over chicken bake for another 20 min.
Hi everyone!!! I hope you all had a fun and safe Halloween weekend!
Whether you stayed in and passed out candy to cute little Elsa’s and Ninja Turtles or you went out in a skirt way too short as a naughty school girl or (if you’re a male) a Spartan, I’m sure many of you got into some fun! I however had an early Halloween on Thursday and got to wear a costume to my Internship. My Halloween weekend consisted of a migraine and fever. Needless to say, I don’t have any cool or scary Halloween stories to tell. But, I’m glad I got to participate in wearing a costume to my internship!
Can you guess what I was?
Yep! A devil.
The wig is from Target, as well as the devil ears. This is the kind of costume you get when you shop for it last minute…
What did you all dress up as? Any spooky stories? Would love to hear them!!!!
